Explosion rocks Kabul money exchange market
An explosion took place Sunday morning inside the Shahzadah Market, the country’s largest currency exchange center, in Kabul.
Abdul Rahman Zirak, spokesman for the market confirmed the blast and said that five money exchangers were wounded in the explosion.
The type of device and the exact number of casualties are not yet known.
The IEA’s security agencies have also not yet commented.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the blast.
On Sunday morning a robber injured 10 people by throwing grenades into the busy Shahazadah money exchange market in Kabul in a bid to steal money, the ministry of interior said.
Ministry officials said an investigation has been launched into the incident and security forces are searching the area for the culprit.
