The issue of the Afghan refugees was discussed in the 13th meeting of the Islamic Emirate’s cabinet, according to a statement released by the Arg.
In the meeting, it was agreed that the commission of refugees’ affairs was instructed to take serious steps to address the challenges ahead of the refugees.
“The first issue discussed was the refugees, in a bid to address their challenges and provide them with work opportunities,” said the Islamic Emirate’s spokesman.
Meanwhile, in a meeting chaired by the political commission of the Islamic Emirate chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, also the issue of Afghan refugees was discussed, a statement from Kabir’s office said.
The statement said that the participants stressed the improvement of relations between all countries.
“In the political commission also a similar discussion about the challenges of the refugees was discussed,” said Hassan Haqyar, a political analyst.
“Such meetings can discuss the weakness and strength of a government. But the important issue is that Afghanistan is still in economic isolation. Was there any discussion about how to overcome this challenge,” said Zalmay Afghanyar, a political analyst.
However, the Afghan refugees deported by Pakistan complained that they don’t have access to basic needs.
“We call on the Islamic Emirate to provide us with a house to live in. We lived all our life in Pakistan and lost everything,” a deportee said.
Based on the statement of tge Arg, the Ministry of Public Works was instructed seriously to address the challenges the transit trucks face alongside the Salang highway.
